A Blogging Holiday and a Vacation Photo

I hope everyone is having a good week.  Things have been a bit hectic on my end so I’m taking a little blogging holiday today.  In place of the regular Tuesday craft or recipe, I am sharing a photo that I took on a trip to Charleston, SC this past summer.  I’ll be back later this week with a new project, until then . . .

Visiting Charleston, South Carolina

I hope that you all had a nice Memorial Day weekend.  Jaime and I spent a couple of days in Charleston, SC over the long weekend catching up with friends and exploring the city.

Charleston, SC - BatteryI am feeling refreshed and inspired after seeing the arts and crafts exhibits at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival and having several delicious meals in Charleston.

The weekend inspired me to add a few items to the very long list of crafts and recipes I’d like to try.  At the top of my list of additions are printmaking, paper magnolias (take two — see my original diy paper magnolias here), and shrimp and grits.

Magnolia FlowerHave you been inspired by a vacation to try to make a new dish or craft? If so, I’d love to hear about it in the comments!

Also, please check back later today for a post about one of our favorite southern desserts that we often pick up when we are in Charleston. Any guesses as to what it is?
