Succulent Dish Garden

With many kids heading back to school soon, I thought that I’d share a quick project for kids.  What better way to spend one of the last days of summer than outside making a succulent dish garden?  I think these dishes would also make a nice teacher appreciation gift.

My mom transferred some potting soil to a small container to make it easier for little hands to work with.  She helped her little helpers spoon the soil into a small pot, place the succulents in the pot, and surround the plants with soil.

She helped them pat down the soil around the plants . . .

And place small stones around the plants.

To make two succulent dish gardens:

  • Two shallow pots
  • Potting soil
  • Succulents
  • Small stones

Enjoy!
