I hope everyone had a nice weekend.  I was very excited to take a break from unpacking this weekend and join some friends at a fundraiser for the EdVenture Children’s Museum, EdStravaGanza. I knew it was my type of event when I walked in and spotted these gorgeous paper flowers in duct tape vases:

Paper FlowersI have a soft spot for paper flowers and I thought that these worked well with the playful vibe of the event.

The theme of the fund raiser was adults celebrating the power of play and there were cool and creative stations encouraging just that. I especially enjoyed the light “painting.”  Here is a “painting” Jaime and I did:

Light Painting

I think light painting could be a fun slumber party activity for older kids. We used finger lights to “paint” pictures in front of a camera with a long exposure (5 seconds) in a blacked-out room. The pictures were then printed on photo paper using a portable photo printer.

Thanks again to our friends, the Rs, for the invitation and tickets to this event!
